“PG” FORM VIOLIN

Violin Content

I primarily use Stradivari’s two most popular and successful golden period models for my violins. One, the “P” form is very slightly less than 14 inches in length, the other, the “PG” pictured here, is slightly longer. The vast majority of Stradivari violins that have been played extensively on the concert stage are of one or the other of these models. We are fortunate to have the contents of Stradivari’s workshop — including the molds labeled P and PG — preserved in the Museo Civico in Cremona.
